The Average trap pt3

We celebrate pioneers, and we should. We honor the men and women who have gone before us because they paved the way for others. They broke through resistance. They persevered when others didn't understand. They kept moving when it would have been easier to turn around.

I can relate to that because I know it's not easy.

Sometimes the greatest resistance isn't around us. It's within us. We have to push past our own fears. We have to push past the voice that tells us it's safer to stay where we are. We have to push past our desire to blend in, to conform, and to do what everyone else is doing. Yet Scripture tells us not to conform to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

I've come to realize that when God begins renewing our minds, He also begins aligning our soul with His heart. Our emotions, our will, and our desires begin to change.

As that happens, we will make decisions that not everyone understands.

People won't always applaud them. They won't always agree with them. Sometimes they will wonder why we're changing. Sometimes they will wonder why we can't just be content with what we've already accomplished.

But if God is calling us higher, we have to decide whose voice matters most.

The price of obedience is always worth paying.

You may be the only one taking that step today, but you won't be the only one forever.

As people begin to see what God is doing in your life, they'll realize that what once seemed strange was actually obedience.

That's how pioneers become examples. That's how faith becomes visible. That's how God uses one person's obedience to give someone else the courage to take their first step.

That's really what's been on my heart. I don't want us to read Scripture as though we're studying people who lived thousands of years ago. I want us to see ourselves in them. I want us to recognize the patterns. I want us to recognize the principles. Because it's one thing to claim God's promises. It's another thing to live by His principles.

I've asked myself this question many times. Why is it that I trust God, yet sometimes I don't see the fruit I'm believing for?

The more I've walked with Him, the more I've realized there are parts of me He wants to reveal. There are places He wants to heal. There are patterns He wants to break. If I ignore those places and only hold on to the promise, there will always be a disconnect.

God is a God of principles. He doesn't ask us to meditate on His Word because He wants to give us another spiritual discipline. He asks us to meditate because that's where transformation begins.

So today, I want to leave you with one question. Where have you settled?

Maybe this season is God's invitation to move again. Not with striving. Not with comparison. But with the confidence that if He is calling you, He has already gone before you.

May you continue to see beyond the visible and steward what truly matters.
